Echoes of the Past …Strength for the Future
Our Committee have been working hard to make up for the significant delays to our hall renovation plans and have refreshed our Preservation, Restoration and Renovation Project plans.
We’re sure you’ve seen the work in phase one, mainly to the Woodland and Gardens surrounging the hall. The safety of hall users is paramount to the committee and we listened to feeback, especially from our youth groups about having a safe and secure outdoor area, away from the busy main road. This coupled with the practical aspects of an increased parking area as the pick and drop off times for youth groups became particulary troublesome and concerning in our dark winter months.
We’ve put together a small video diary of our very early developments and would love for you to take a look under our new Videos & Presentations tab. We’re grateful to all the groups and companies who have supported us in this first phase and we look forward to working with many of you again as we build momentum through the project.
We’re currently in the planning stages of a major piece of renovation, which is to have the hall roof and guttering fully replaced and repaired. So not the smallest of jobs and one which we must undertake within the parameters of the halls listed building status and giving cognisance to the original design and features which we want to see retained.
We’re delighted to have engaged the services of ZM Architecture and specifically the experience of Nick Blair as we embark on the early scoping and funding support for this major project noting our committment to the conservation of the building in our restorations.
The committee are now fully engaged in the Project Funding Phase having secured an up to date Conditions Report. We are in the process of finalising all applications with funding partners to secure our budget requirements to undertaken these major works. Fingers and Toes crossed!!
